What To Do –
Even If They’re a Wild One
So, you’re about to book a photoshoot, but one thought keeps creeping into your mind: “What if my dog won’t sit still?!” First off—don’t stress. I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs, from hyperactive puppies to professional-level posers, and I promise we will get amazing shots, no matter what.
The trick is simple: we let them be themselves. If your dog is full of energy, we embrace it! Action shots of your dog bounding through a field, chasing a ball, or mid-air in a perfect leap are some of the most breathtaking images. If they’re a little shy or nervous, we take it slow, giving them time to warm up and earn their trust. And yes, treats will be involved. Lots of treats.
A Few Pro Tips to Help Your Pup Shine:
- Treats! Treats! Treats! – I can’t stress enough how important they are. You know your pup best, so please bring their favorite low-calorie ones. Lots of them. We’ll need them throughout the entire shoot.
-
Exercise Before the Session – A long walk or a play session helps burn off excess energy, making it easier for them to focus when the camera comes out.
-
Bring Their Favorite Things – Toys, a well-loved blanket, or even a piece of your clothing can make them feel comfortable and happy.
-
Stay Relaxed – Dogs pick up on our energy! If you’re stressed about them “behaving,” they’ll feel it. Instead, just enjoy the experience—this is about having fun!
Most importantly, perfection isn’t the goal. The goal is to capture your dog’s personality, whether they’re goofy, regal, sassy, or sweet. Some of the best photos come from unexpected moments, so let’s embrace the chaos and create something unforgettable. Book a session today and let’s make some magic!
